Banstead 5 Churches Conference 2009
Questions the panel will address:
1. Should the developed world reassess our lifestyles to help develop lasting solutions to poverty in poor countries? What factors would be most significant? What can ordinary individuals do?
2. What sort of provision could be envisaged to channel Young People’s energies peacefully and develop socially positive attitudes, and how could Young People be persuaded to participate?
3. Is there any way we can encourage politicians throughout the world to do their job with honesty and integrity?
4. Do the media control our thinking too much? Does the reliance of the press, TV and the Internet on advertising promote material consumption excessively? Do some media give a faulty impression of life and relationships, especially to Young People?
5. How can we do more to help keep families intact and caring? How important is it to have both a mother and a father involved in bringing up children? How can commitment to relationships be promoted?
